BAIA gladly republishes here a recent announcement by Consul General Mauro Battocchi. You can find the original post here:
…as by now most of you aware of, the Italian Parliament called for the renewal of the Committee of Italians Abroad (COM.IT.ES) in each consular area - including the COMITES of San Francisco. The Committee is elected by the Italian citizens abroad with the objective to cooperate with the Consulates for the promotion of cultural and social activities to the benefit of the Italian community.
This is a democratic process and the right to vote can be exercised by mail. The election day will be December 19th. This year the electoral ballot will be sent only to the voters who have made an express request to the Consulate. Parliament has decided that the dealine for registering is November 19th (and not October 30th as previously mandated). We strongly suggest that you act now!
“How can we register?”, you may be wondering.
To do so you must complete this forms and return it to the Consulate in every possible way: in person, by mail, by fax (415-931-7205), by e-mail (email@example.com) or by certified email (firstname.lastname@example.org). You must include also a copy of your identity document that displays your signature. This copy doesn’t need to be authenticated.
I sincerely hope to see you all participate in the coming elections!
